Welcome to our page of blogs. We are currently training community leaders from around the state to blog at this site too. The vast distances we face in this state can partly be bridged by this shared conversation.

Our goal is to encourage informal, positive discussion that spurs people to connect with each other and to take united action to promote democracy, justice, equality and freedom. Idahoans have played an important role in the progressive movement in the US and we will continue to do so. Because Idaho is overlooked and dismissed by national pundits, the work of our local leaders is more resilient, creative and authentic. Join us!

We hear people talking about this issue a lot these days - energy. From the electricity that runs our computers to the gasoline in our cars, our dependence on energy and petroleum is an ever-present issue. Balancing our energy needs, our economic needs and the environmental needs of our world can get difficult.

"In a series of articles, the Washington Post examines the economic forces that have unhinged oil prices from their longtime cyclical patterns, propelling fuel costs to once unimaginable levels that are now both fraying the lifestyles of our recent past and speeding the search for an energy source of the future.

"Following the basic economic structure of market, demand and supply, this five part series looks closely at popular trends both past and present that shape American’s fascination with large scale consumption.  The legacy of “American ideals”big cars and even bigger suburban housesglobalization and international competition spurred our current energy crisis that reaches all aspects of society.  The final article looks at the search for alternative technology to challenge the status quo and move toward a more sustainable energy future."

There are a lot of complicated issues and possible solutions. Let's keep the dialog doing.
